B"H
Every individual seeks a roof over their head, a place where they can lay their weary heads after a day's labor, fatigued and in need of rest to gather new strength. Additionally, everyone requires economic security and sustenance to maintain a dignified existence.
Up to this point, everything sounds normal and understood – we go about our routines, waking up in the morning, engaging in our daily activities, returning home, and life follows its usual course. Behind all this stand precious individuals who enable us to lead a normal and routine life. We can pursue our occupations with confidence, knowing we have a secure and safe home to return to. These individuals work tirelessly in various sectors, safeguarding and monitoring borders, preventing acts of terror, and neutralizing security threats—many of which never reach the public's awareness.
The unfortunate reality is that many of these dear soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), who ensure the well-being of all, find themselves without a home and lacking economic and nutritional security. These lone soldiers come from families in distress or have come to Israel alone, setting aside their personal challenges to volunteer and contribute to Israel's never-ending struggle for existence.
While on duty, they are stationed at a base, but when they need to leave for the weekend or during their shifts' rotation, many of them have nowhere to return. They wander between homes and families with an uncomfortable feeling. Not every city has a "soldiers' home," and where they do exist, the available space is often filled. These cherished soldiers are then forced to fend for themselves in finding a place to stay.
Since the beginning of the conflict, we have received numerous requests from lone soldiers who were hosted by families in kibbutzim affected by disasters or in homes vacated due to the security situation. Sadly, many of them now have nowhere to go. Natzah Yisrael is committed to providing them with dignified living arrangements and ensuring all their essential needs are met when they are not on duty.
The monthly cost of supporting each soldier amounts to thousands of dollars. Now is the time and place to acknowledge their efforts and selfless dedication for the sake of all of Israel. Let us provide them with the minimum they deserve – a roof over their heads and economic and nutritional security.
