"In every generation, it has been the Torah that has sustained us, providing us with hope and strength to endure all the crises and challenges we have faced as a nation. The tradition of writing a letter in the Torah scroll is known to be beneficial for protection, both in times of war and during pandemics. Recently, we witnessed miracles that occurred due to the Torah scroll. Hostages returned safely, their lives spared, thanks to the Torah scroll they were connected to.
According to tradition, the Torah scroll accompanies us everywhere. Even in the battles of King David, the Torah scroll was held close, a secret to Israel's victories. It is hard not to agree with this sentiment, especially in our challenging times. Our soldiers are deep within the heart of the battlefield, and they require spiritual protection as they fight against bloodthirsty terrorists whose sole purpose is to destroy us. God forbid, they aim to behead us and cast us into the sea, and we have already seen the atrocities they are capable of...
Therefore, it is a supreme commandment to write a verse or at the very least, a letter in the Torah scroll for every soldier at the forefront of this difficult and perilous war, so that they may be protected and return safely to their homes.
Beside the young soldiers, there are many outstanding Israeli men who have left their families behind in the hope of serving and defending their country. Many of these warriors are reservists, leaving their wives, children, and their entire way of life behind. Therefore, it is our duty to repay them with good and do our utmost to protect them. This is the highest form of protection we can offer them.
Join us in writing a letter in the Torah scroll for them, and you shall merit all the blessings and goodness."
